Game 23 | January 24, 1952 | Ike Armstrong, Charlie Johnson
Armstrong had coached Utah football teams to 12 conference championships before coming to the University of Minnesota as athletic director in 1950. He held that post until 1963. Johnson, the executive sports editor of The Minneapolis Tribune, was thought by many to be the most important behind-the-scenes figure on the local sports scene for two decades. He was one of the founders of Dunkers and served as head coach in 1954.
Game 24 | April 3, 1952 | Butzie Maetzold
In 1952 and 1953 Hopkins High School dominated the local basketball scene, winning back-to-back state titles. Maetzold, a member of the Minnesota High School Coaches Hall of Fame, was the first high school coach or player to appear before Dunkers. The star of his team, Dave Tschimperle, was voted by sportswriters as a member of the state's all-time “Dream Team."

Elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1947, Hubbell is best remembered for his remarkable performance in the 1934 All-Star game when he struck out five consecutive future Hall-of-Famers: Joe Cronin, Al Simmons, Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and Jimmie Foxx.

Game 26 | July 25, 1952 | Katherine Rawls
In town to promote the Aqua Follies at Theodore Wirth Lake, Rawls was a star Olympic swimmer and winner of 34 national swimming meets. The Aqua Follies were a highlight of the summer Aquatennial from 1940 until they ended in 1964 when the cost of refurbishing the stage was deemed too high.
Game 27 | October 23, 1952 | Brutus Hamilton
A decathlon medalist for the United States in the 1920 Olympics, Hamilton was the athletic director for the University of California in 1952, when his team traveled to Minnesota to defeat the Gophers 49-13. He had just returned from a leave of absence to coach the U.S. Olympic track team at the Helsinki Games.
