New Member Nomination

Nominations are accepted year-round and those accepted now will be considered at the July 2025  Membership Committee meeting.

The deadline for submission of nominations is
Friday, June 20, 2025.

Thanks for taking the time and showing the interest in helping recruit new members. It is through efforts from members like you that we continue to thrive as one of the top organizations to be part of here in the Twin Cities area.  Here's what you need to know to nominate a new member.

Dunker members represent a broad cross-section of established and emerging leadership in the Twin Cities corporate and non-profit communities who share a common interest in sports and high profile events.

New members are nominated only by a Dunker member with a second by another Dunker member. As the primary sponsor, you will need another Dunker member to second the nomination.

Once the nomination form is completed and submitted, the member seconding the nomination will be contacted via separate email and offered the opportunity to include additional comments for consideration by the Membership Committee on why the nominee should be a Dunker. The primary sponsor will be copied on that email.

General public applications to become a member are not accepted or considered.

Here are the topics you want to discuss with the person you may want to nominate:

[a] Dunkers is a sports-oriented organization and our speakers are generally from the sports worlds and that  we have a Dunkers Fund whose purpose is to provide financial support to the 14 area Twin Cities public high schools to purchase uniforms and athletic equipment;

[b] The initiation fee is $600 ($100 initiation, $500 for the year) at the time of joining and dues are $500 a year thereafter;

[c] Our meetings are at Interlachen Country Club in Edina that start with coffee at 7am and, by Dunker rules, will always end not later than 8:30am;

[d] While their guests incur a fee, their dues cover the cost of their attendance at about 18 regular meetings and the Annual Dunkers Fund Dinner;

[e] Visit the Dunkers website (www.twincitiesdunkers.com) to learn more about the organization;

[f]  Nomination does not automatically result in membership. Explain that membership is limited to 350, new members are accepted as openings occur, and that the list of nominees is always longer than the openings available to be filled. The openings are filled when the Membership Committee meets in January and July of each year.

[g] Invite them to an upcoming meeting as your guest to help them determine their interest in Dunkers.  They are required to attend a meeting prior to being nominated to be considered by the Membership Committee. Guest fees are applicable when bringing a nominee to a meeting.

[h] Finally, and more importantly, be sure your nominee understands that a nomination doesn't mean they're in Dunkers. A nomination is just that, a nomination.

THE NEW MEMBER NOMINATION FORM

If after discussing the above items with them and them attending a meeting they are interested in being nominated, complete the online New Member Nomination Form. All nominations must be submitted using the Online Nomination Form.  Nomination forms that are not completed do not meet the requirement of submitting by deadline and will not be accepted.

To help you complete the nomination form, you can download and provide the nominee the Nomination Form Worksheet that identifies the information you need to complete the Online Nomination Form. Click to download worksheet

Again, once the nomination form is completed and submitted, the member seconding the nomination will be contacted via separate email and offered the opportunity to include additional comments for consideration by the Membership Committee on why the nominee should be a Dunker. The primary sponsor will be copied on that email.

NOMINATION FORM CAN ONLY BE
