On the 30th anniversary of the Miracle on Ice victory in the l980 Winter Olympics, former Gopher McClanahan recalled stories about coach Herb Brooks, his teammates and the thrilling victory over the previously undefeated Soviet Union team. McClanahan scored five goals in the Olympics including the game winning in the Gold Medal victory over Finland.

With most of the team's roster in town for TwinsFest and the start of the Winter Caravan, Nathan and Kubel talked about their thoughts on the upcoming season in their new home, Target Field. Nathan had arm surgery and missed the entire season. Kubel alternated between right f1eld and designated hitter. He hit .249 with 21 home runs and 92 runs batted in.

Two former Gopher Football stars talked about their life after football. Thompson, the top running back in Gopher history, now runs Bolder Options, a well-regarded youth diversion program in Minneapolis/Saint Paul. Watson, who came from the Denver projects to Minnesota, is now an elementary school principal whose school has been cited for its innovative programming and outstanding results.

Gopher baseball coach Anderson talked about plans for a long-overdue renovation of Siebert Field and his competition at the upcoming tournament from Northwestern, Oklahoma State and Loyola Marymount. Three weeks later Anderson's Gophers played the first game at Target Field, hosting Louisiana Tech.

It was a return appearance for the second-term Minnesota governor. He talked about plans to handle a projected budget shortfall, his thoughts on the 2012 Presidential election and upcoming Republican National Convention in Saint Paul as well as chances for a new Minnesota Vikings stadium.

Game 753 | April 6, 2010 | Target Field Preview: Dave St. Peter, Jerry Bell
With Dunkers Dave St. Peter and Jerry Bell leading the way, Dunker members ate breakfast in the Metropolitan Club and got a complete tour of the Twins' new stadium a week before the home opener against the Boston Red Sox. At mid-season, ESPN Magazine rated Target Field as offering the best stadium experience in America.

Thought by many to be the greatest defensive player in University of Minnesota football history, Bell talked about the path From high school quarterback in segregated Shelby, N.C., to All-American defensive tackle at Minnesota. He remembered that President John Kennedy, talking about the officiating, said: "You guys got robbed in that Wisconsin game." He also recalled a game in which his father came into the locker room at halftime to find his injured son lying on the training table with a game-ending leg injury. “I didn't come all the way from North Carolina to watch my son on any table," he told him. Bell re-entered the game in the second half.

The Twins General Manager and Manager talked about their team and life at new Target Field. The team later clinched its sixth division title in nine seasons, and Gardenhire was named "American League Manager of the Year."

Under first-year coach Reeve the Minnesota Lynx team finished the season with a 13-21 record. Whalen, in her first season back in Minnesota, averaged 12.6 points per game, 4.0 rebounds and 5.6 assists and was named to play in the league's All-Star game.

Dunker members got a chance to see and hold a Silver Medal from the 2010 Winter Olympics at Vancouver. Darwitz' women's hockey team finished second to host Canada. Benshoof, the top U.S. luger for the past decade, led all Americans with an eighth-place finish.

Game 758 | July 28, 2010 | Steve Hutchinson, Brad Childress
Hopes were high for the Vikings as they approached training camp in Mankato. They had come within a single play of going to the Super Bowl five months earlier. The 2010 season didn't start as well as expected as the team lost seven of its first lO games. Childress was fired as head coach, and Hutchinson, an all-pro guard, battled injuries most of the season.

During the Game 758 meeting prior Head Coaches were recognized and were presented with bound books that reflected their year as Head Coach.

Game 759 | August 4, 2010 | Bernhard Langer
Defending 3M Champion Langer, coming off back-to-back victories in the British Senior Men's Open and the U.S. Senior Men's Open the prior two weeks, told members of his introduction to golf as a 9-year-old in Germany when members at a local club gave him a discarded 2 wood, a 3 iron, 7 iron and a bent putter. Langer parlayed those clubs into two Masters championships and, in 2009, he won all three of the major awards on the U.S. Champions Tour.

It was a rare opportunity for Dunkers to hear from Delany, Big Ten Conference Commissioner since 1989; Scott, beginning his second year as Pac lO Commissioner, and Wright, president of the Tournament of Roses since 2006. They talked about expansion of the Big Ten and Pac 10, the impact of the Big Ten Network and the merits of a national championship game in college football.

Entering his fourth season as head coach of Gopher football, Brewster expressed optimism for the coming year. Fifty-two days later he was fired in mid-season after his team got off to a 1-6 start with losses to Northern Illinois and the University of South Dakota.

Game 762 | September 16, 2010 | Judge Dickson, Bobby Bell, Tom Teigen, Julian Hook, Tommy King, Bob McNeil
Nearly every living member of the 1960 Gopher football team was in town to celebrate the Gophers last national championship. Six former players provided memories about a special season that included a Big 10 title and trip to the Rose Bowl. Bell's jersey number 78 was retired by the University in a special ceremony on September 18 at TCF Bank Stadium.

The recently retired anchor of NBC Nightly News recalled his first visit to Minneapolis by train as a 12-year-old living in South Dakota. His boyhood hero was Paul Giel, and he knew the names of all the Gopher players from studying the Peach Section in The Sunday Minneapolis Tribune which he delivered to his customers.

The Gopher men's and women's basketball coaches talked about their new players and prospects for the upcoming season. Players China Antoine and Kiara Buford accompanied coach Borton.

Game 765 | October 22, 2010 | Mark Silverman
The Big Ten Network was launched in August 2007 and struggled for early distribution. Network President Silverman, a veteran of ABC/Disney, talked about how the network has grown to become a major money maker for all conference athletic programs.

Game 766 | October 27, 2010 | Chuck Fletcher, Todd Richards
It was the beginning of the second year for the general manager and coach of the Minnesota Wild. Both talked about the need to produce more offense and to build a team that could continue to hold fan interest.

Annual Meeting 2010 | December 10, 2010 | Sid Hartman, Dave Mona
Sid Hartman and Dave Mona welcomed numerous sports guests including Vikings interim coach Leslie Frazier. Club members were served donuts in the tradition of early annual meetings some 60 years ago.
