Just a month after learning he’d been elected to the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame, Tony shared his thoughts with Dunkers. He was a three-time American League batting champion, an 8-time All Star outfielder and the American League Rookie of the Year in 1964. He played his entire career with the Minnesota Twins.

A native of Flin Flon, in far northern Manitoba, Evason was named head coach of the Minnesota Wild in 2020. He became the sixth coach in Wild history, succeeding Bruce Boudreau. The 2022-23 team finished with a 46-25-11 record and lost to Dallas 4-2 in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Dunker member Lea B. Olsen moderated a panel of national media members here to cover the NCAA basketball championship. Before sellout crowds at the Target Center, South Carolina defeated U Conn 64-49 in the championship game.

Dunkers first meeting at their new home. After nearly 74 years in downtown Minneapolis and 21 years at the Minneapolis Club, Dunkers moved the meeting site to Interlachen Country Club in Edina, MN.

In 2022 Steveson claimed the Olympic Gold Medal in the Heavyweight Division with a takedown with less than one second left in the match. Representing the University of Minnesota, he was the two-time NCAA heavyweight champion.

Following the 2016 season the Twins decide to go a new direction. Falvey, the president of baseball operations, joined the team from the Cleveland Indians, and General Manager Thad Levine was hired away from the Texas Rangers.

The Vikings fired long-time General Manager Rick Spielman and Head Coach Mike Zimmer. Under the leadership of Adofo-Menseh and O’Connell, the team won the NFL North with a record of 13-4.

In Coach Fleck’s sixth year as Gopher head coach his team finished with a 9-4 record and defeated Syracuse 28-20 in the Pinstripe Bowl in New York City. It was the Gophers’ sixth consecutive bowl victory. The Gophers have a 44-27 record under Coach Fleck.

A Viking star defensive lineman and NFL Hall of Famer, Page, who later became a Minnesota Supreme Court Justice, talked about the need for communities to support the work of Twin Cities in Motion. The Twin Cities Marathon has been run every year since 1982.

The 27-year-old Temple graduate quickly became known as one of the longest drivers on the pro tour. Standing 6-4, he develops great torque and hits his 5-iron 231 yards and his driver up to 340 yards.

One of the longest-serving commissioners in professional sports, Garber, assumed office in 1999. During his career the league has expanded from 10 to 30 teams. He talked about the remarkable success of the Minnesota United team and the success of Allianz Stadium in St. Paul.

After 30 years of having an ownership stake in the St. Paul Saints baseball team, Veeck talked about the decision to sell the Saints to the Minnesota Twins. With the acquisition the Twins had their Triple AAA affiliate only 11 miles away…the closest such relationship in all of major league baseball.

After the Gophers fired Richard Pitino they turned to Johnson to lead the team in 2021. A star at Minneapolis DeLaSalle high school, Johnson played college ball at both Northwestern and Minnesota. He became the youngest coach in the Big Ten and his young team finished last in the Big Ten in 2022-23 with a 9-22 record.
