As the defending WNBA champions, the Lynx were heavily favored to repeat in 2012. Horton, the team's play-by-play voice, asked Moore to share memories of her recent Gold Medal as a member of the U.S. Women's Basketball Team. Moore, the WNBA Rookie of the Year in 20ll, once again made the All-WNBA team as the Lynx recorded the league's best regular-season record before losing to Indiana in the playoff finals. Peters, the team's first-round draft choice out of Notre Dame, played sparingly on the veteran-dominated team. Alan Horton did the interviews.

Thibodeau, the 2011 NBA Coach of the Year with the Chicago Bulls, was hired in the off-season to succeed Sam Mitchell as the head coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves. He entertained Dunkers with his stories of being an assistant coach on the Gold Medal U.S. Basketball team in Rio as well as his NBA debut as an assistant to Bill Musselman on the 1989 expansion Minnesota Timberwolves. New General Manager Layden previously held executive positions with the New York Knicks, Utah Jazz and the San Antonio Spurs. Horton, the team's play-by-play announcer, did the interviews.

The Minnesota Timberwolves had a major makeover from the previous season, trading Ricky Rubio, Zach Levine and Kris Dunn while adding Jimmy Butler, Jeff Teague and Taj Gibson. Thibodeau outlined Butler's career in Chicago with the Bulls as he developed into an all-star excelling offensively and defensively. Thibodeau said he thought the addition of the veterans would bring out the talents of young stars such as Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins. Team CEO Casson talked about the lessons learned from a pre-season trip to China and the global marketing reach of the National Basketball Association. Team play-by-play announcer Alan Horton did the interviews.

Appearing a week before the start of training camp a lot of the discussion was around Jimmy Butler's future with the team. Head Coach Tom Thibodeau pointed out that the team had improved by 17 victories last year and that everything would be sorted out in the near future. It didn't work out for either Thibodeau or Butler. On November 12 Butler was traded to Philadelphia, and Thibodeau was fired less than two months later.

Timberwolves' broadcaster Alan Horton and T'Wolves President Gersson Rosas described the drafting of Anthony Edwards with the first overall choice in the NBA draft. Midway through the season Rosas fired coach Ryan Saunders in favor of Toronto assistant Chris Finch.

A long-time NBA assistant, Finch in February became the 14th head coach in Timberwolves history. Known to be one of the top offensive minds in the NBA, quickly structured his team around veterans Karl Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell plus rookie guard Anthony Edwards. Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations Gersson Rosas, who hired Finch, was fired hours after attending the Dunkers meeting.

In May of 2022 the Timberwolves lured Connelly away from the Denver Nuggets who went on the win the NBA Championship a year later. He began his career as an intern with the Washington Wizards in 1998.  After stints as an NBA assistant coach at Houston, Denver, New Orleans and Toronto, Coach Finch joined the Timberwolves in 2021. Improving each year, his team’s record over the past three years is 104-101.
