Now the General Manager of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Newton worked in player development with T'Wolves Coach Flip Saunders when Saunders coached the Washington Wizards. Newton grew up in the U.S. Virgin Islands and was recruited to Kansas where he started at forward for the team's 1988 National Champions.
