MONTE IRVIN

A star outfielder in the old Negro Leagues, Irvin was already 36 and recovering from injuries when he joined the Millers in midseason after being sent down by the parent New York Giants. In 75 games, he hit .352 with 14 home runs and 52 RBIs. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1973.
